
Skechers was born as a brand in 1992 by a US importer for Dr. Martens shoes, but it wasn't until 1995 that the company started its own production. Initially, these were derivatives of Doc Marten boots and shoes, but Skechers soon moved on to lifestyle and sporting footwear.
